Owner of Shannon ChildCare, Alyson Shannon, has always had a real love and affinity for children and it was this passion that helped inspire her to open her first nursery in 2006.

Alyson has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of child development, which is the very backbone of Shannon ChildCare. In July 2011 she attained a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Early Years Childhood Studies and following this, in April 2012 she achieved Early Years Professional Status (EYPS). Alyson now works as a Link Tutor, Mentor and on The Advisory Board with Middlesex University, this keeps her well informed of all new childcare ideas and legislation.

Alyson constantly strives to ensure that Shannon ChildCare is ahead of other nurseries and childminders. She personally does all home visits for perspective parents and children who are looking to join Shannon ChildCare. Alyson understands the struggles some parents face when entering childcare for the first time and puts their minds at ease.

In Alyson’s own words “My carers have a ‘sweetness of soul’ and our little friends flourish with the positive, enabling environment we provide. I personally feel creating a ‘home from home’ atmosphere is the best setting for babies, toddlers & pre-school children to develop. Providing security and tender loving care, enables our babies to develop and learn from a stable and nurturing environment.”
