The art of providing our children with security and love, at our nursery, enables them to feel happy and therefore learn and progress. We encourage children to understand feelings and emotions, being kind and thoughtful to others. We provide the tools to encourage our children to self-regulate and be reflective of their actions. Children learn about good behaviour, manners and turn-taking. Giving them confidence in their abilities, empowers them to be independent.
Recognising and praising our children’s effort contributes to their feelings of pride and develops a positive mind-set. We include the learning of meditation and yoga to aid their knowledge of personal and emotional well-being.
Our ‘8 Learning Attitudes’, that we share with our parents, encourages our children’s thirst for learning.
Health and self-care are important factors in any child’s development, known as ‘Life Skills’. We support our children to be independent from teaching them to hold a bottle, use a spoon, fork and knife to learning toileting and self-care routines.
Understanding the importance of eating well and doing exercise for a healthy life style is also part of our curriculum. They enjoy our cooking sessions, serving themselves food to pouring their own drinks. As they progress through the houses, they are able to learn new skills.
